Troubleshooting
IPTV App Keeps Crashing? Safe Checks Before You Reset
An app that closes or returns to the device home screen is a crash—not the same problem as buffering, playback failure, or missing sound.

An IPTV app crash is when the app unexpectedly closes, freezes and exits, or returns you to the device home screen. It is different from buffering (video pauses while the app stays open), a playback error on one item, or picture with no sound.
Start with safe, reversible checks
- 1
Note what happens
Check whether the app closes immediately, after opening one item, or only after the device has been running for a while.
- 2
Close and reopen the app
Exit the app fully, then open it again from the device home screen.
- 3
Restart the supported TV device
Use the normal restart control on Fire TV, Android TV, Google TV, or a compatible Android TV box, then reopen the app.
- 4
Check available device updates
Use the device's own Settings and app-update route. Menu names vary by manufacturer, so do not apply phone instructions to a TV device.
Cache and app data are not the same
Clearing cache removes temporary files and may make an app slower the next time it opens. Clearing app data (sometimes called storage) permanently deletes the app's local data. It can remove settings, saved preferences, and local sign-in or activation state.
When to clear cache or reinstall
Use clearing cache only after the normal restart and update checks. Consider clearing app data or reinstalling only when support directs you to do so or when you have the details needed to set the app up again. Reinstalling removes the installed app and can erase its local data.
What to report to support
If the app still crashes, share the supported device type, the point at which it closes, whether other apps stay open normally, and the checks already completed. Do not post an activation code publicly. If video instead pauses while the app stays open, use the buffering guide; if video plays with no sound, use the audio guide.
Frequently asked questions
Will clearing cache delete my app settings?
Cache normally removes temporary files. Clearing app data or storage is different and can delete local settings and activation or sign-in state.
Should I reinstall an IPTV app when it crashes?
Not as a first step. Restart the app and device, check updates, and ensure you can recover setup details before a reinstall.
Is buffering the same as an app crash?
No. Buffering happens while the app remains open; a crash closes the app or returns to the device home screen.
